Android Dominates the US Market Share

In just over 2 years, the Android OS has become the dominant mobile OS shipped for the third quarter in the US, amazing. In total, there were 9.1 million Android smartphone shipped in the US between July 1 and Sept 30, accounting for 43.6 percent of the smartphone market. The iPhone had 26.2% of the market share, which is about the same as their Q1 and Q2 numbers. I think that Android numbers will keep growing, as more device options are becoming available for users. Apple may be dominating the high end smartphone market, but Android has a hold of the low to mid range which is very important in these tough financial times (check out the US debt clock).
